Wander – Navigation menu setup

Wander theme supports three navigation menu places at the header area and one navigation menu at footer area. In order to activate these menus follow these steps.

  • Before you start creating menus, go to Appearance > Customize > Wander Theme Settings > Header Settings. Mark the check boxes next to header menu items to enable them.
  • Header left menu shows on the left side of the logo.
  • Header right menu shows on the right of the logo.
  • Burger menu shows on the left side of the logo with an icon (three horizontal lines)
  • Header button shows on the right side of the logo with a short description text. See Wander Demo 1 for an example. If you want to activate Header button, both “Do you want to display right header menu? ” and “Do you want to display Header Button?” options should be checked. If activated, header right menu will be replaced with the button.
  • Also in this section of the Customizer you can enable the search functionality in the header section.
  • Footer menu shows at the bottom-right of the website. This place is usually used to display legal links to privacy policy, terms of use pages, and payment options (if you have a online store).
Header Right Menu
  • Go to Appearance > Menus
  • Create a new menu.
  • Give your menu a name and click on “Create Menu” button.
  • Choose “Header Right Menu” checkbox from “Menu Settings” and save the menu if you want this menu to be shown on the right side of the header area.
  • Add menu items to this menu from the the left section.
  • Save the menu once you’re done.
  • This space doesn’t accept child menus. And should hold the most important links for your website.
Header Left Menu
  • Go to Appearance > Menus
  • Create a new menu.
  • Give your menu a name and click on “Create Menu” button.
  • Choose “Header Left Menu” checkbox from “Menu Settings” and save the menu if you want this menu to be shown on the left side of the header are.
  • Add menu items to this menu from the the left section.
  • This space doesn’t accept child menus. And should hold the most important links for your website.
Burger Menu
  • Go to Appearance > Menus
  • Create a new menu.
  • Give your menu a name and click on “Create Menu” button.
  • Choose “Header Burger Menu” checkbox from “Menu Settings” and save the menu if you want this menu to be shown on the left side of the header area.
  • Add menu items to this menu from the the left section.
  • You can create child menus within Burger Menu by dragging the menu item further right underneath an existing menu item. If you want to make child menus, make the parent menu a custom link without writing anything to the link section. This will ensure that your menu will work properly on responsive layout.
  • To create headings in Burger Menu, enable CSS Classes checkbox from Screen Options at the top right of the Appearance > Menu page. Then write wander-menu-title into the “CSS Classes (optional) ” area under your menu item options.
  • If you created headings in the Burger Menu, do not include child menus under it.
Header Button

This area is great to drive traffic to your shop, your most important content, or your lead magnet.

  • Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Wander Theme Settings > Header Settings
  • “Title of Header Button” section is where your button text will go. Give it a short title like “Download”, “Shop now”, “Subscribe”, “Get now”.
  • Paste your link within “Url of Header Button” section.
  • “Text of Header Button” section is where you can write a short description for the header button so that your visitors know what they will get once they click the button.
  • Enable both ” Do you want to display Header Button? ” and “Do you want to display right header menu?” checkboxes for Header Button to appear.
  • Click Publish button.
Footer Menu
  • Go to Appearance > Menus
  • Create a new menu.
  • Give your menu a name and click on “Create Menu” button.
  • Choose “Footer Menu” checkbox from “Menu Settings” and save the menu if you want this menu to be shown on the bottom-right of the footer area.
  • Add menu items to this menu from the the left section.
  • This space doesn’t accept child menus.
  • If you want to display payment icons in this section, enable CSS Classes checkbox from Screen Options at the top right of the Appearance > Menu page. Then write one of the following CSS classes into the “CSS Classes (optional) ” area under your menu item options.
